Sacraments · Baptism
Welcomed into
the life of the Church.
Baptism is the door to every other sacrament — for an infant in a parent's arms or an adult beginning the journey. The parish walks with you from first phone call to font.
How it works
-
Begin the request online
Tell us about your family and the person to be baptized. It takes a few minutes, and the parish office follows up personally. Prefer to talk? Call the office at 905‑522‑9828.
-
Meet for preparation
Parents and godparents join a preparation session — what baptism means, what happens in the rite, and how to keep the promise alive at home.
-
Celebrate the baptism
Baptisms are usually celebrated once a month at the church at 440 King Street East.
What you'll need
- At least one godparent who is a confirmed, practising Catholic age 16 or over. A baptized non-Catholic Christian may stand as a Christian witness alongside.
- A copy of the birth certificate of the person to be baptized.
Adults seeking baptism
Adults are welcomed through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) — a season of learning, prayer, and community leading to baptism, confirmation, and first Eucharist, usually at the Easter Vigil. If you're curious, that's enough to start: contact the parish office and a member of the team will meet you where you are.
