Marriage at
St. Patrick’s.
A wedding at St. Patrick's joins your promise to 150 years of promises made beneath the same hammer-beam ceiling. Come talk to us early — the preparation is part of the gift.
How it works
-
Contact the parish 9–12 months ahead
Before booking a hall or a date, speak with the parish office so there is unhurried time for preparation.
-
Marriage preparation
Couples first meet with the priest who will witness the marriage, then complete a marriage preparation course.
-
Celebrate the wedding
Your wedding is celebrated in the church at 440 King Street East — within Mass or as a Liturgy of the Word, discerned with the priest.
What you'll need
- A recently issued baptismal certificate for each Catholic party (issued within six months of the wedding).
- An Ontario marriage licence.
- If either party was previously married, talk to the priest first — some situations need time to resolve, and the parish will help.
- Marriages between a Catholic and a baptized non-Catholic, or a non-baptized person, are celebrated with the appropriate permission — the priest arranges this.
